PHOTOS: What Nigerians are saying as Pictures of Atiku’s Son, Ribadu’s Daughter’s Wedding Go Viral

Nigerians have been reacting to the viral beautiful wedding pictures of Aliyu, son of former vice-president Atiku Abubakar and Fatima, daughter of former EFCC chairman, Nuhu Ribadu.

 

The couple tied the nuptial knots on Saturday 3 October in Abuja.

 

Fatima Ribadu, the beautiful daughter of the Ribadus, who is in her early 20s, graduated from the Nigerian Turkish International College in Abuja in 2015 before going abroad for university education.

 

Aliyu is the son of Atiku’s third wife, Princess Rukaiyatu, daughter of the Lamido of Adamawa, Aliyu Mustafa. He is the third child and was named after Atiku’s father.

 

He thus became a special child to his father. And no wonder he succeeded him as Turaki of Adamawa, after Atiku was promoted the Waziri.

Expectedly, while the wedding pictures have continued to go viral on various social media, more Nigerians have submitted that there are lessons to be learnt from the fatiha ceremony.

 

First and foremost, political followers across the nation have been told to emulate the their leaders by embracing peace always as chieftains of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC and the main opposition, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP set aside their political differences while they attended the ceremony.

 

While father of the bride, who was EFCC chairman, is currently a chieftain of the APC, Atiku, the father of the groom, who is a PDP top shot, hosted the National Leader of the APC, Bola Tinubu; the caretaker National Chairman of the APC, Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State and his Kano and Kaduna States counterparts, Ganduje and Nasir El-Rufai respectively.

 

 

Former Kano governor and PDP chieftain, Rabiu Kwankwaso, also attended.

 

 

However, one of the attendees, Salihu Tanko Yakasai, the media aide to Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, gave his observations from the wedding ceremony.

 

 

Yakassai, writing on his Twitter page, said: “I sat at a vantage point during the Atiku/Ribadu children’s wedding and saw several key actors in almost all the major current political feuds in both APC and PDP walked and sat together joyfully without bitterness.

 

 

“Let us emulate them and agree to disagree amicably,” he said.

Speaking in the same vein, Abayomi Salami wrote on his Facebook page, “Build your relationships. We grow by it…. This is the political gladiators in joyful mood today at Ribadus daughter wedding. …..Atiku, Tinubu, Kwankwanso and rest sitting happily together…..what guide politics is INTEREST … PLS don’t fight because of APC OR PDP….we masses are just pawns in their chess boards….stop killing ,maiming or creating enmity because of mere politics. . Pls work on your relationship to truly be relevant in life.. politics grow few people  .  Pls learn…

While in real life, the rich does not shift one inch below their circle.

Meanwhile, on the other side, commenting on the bride, Fatima’s attire, many Nigerians said it has shown that the Sharia law is not for the rich.

 

According to them, the wedding dress is totally unislamic as it exposes greater part of her body.
