President Muhammadu Buhari has announced the appointment of Professor Ibrahim Agboola Gambari as his Chief of Staff.

The Secretary to Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha announced Professor Gambari’s appointment shortly before the commencement of the Federal Executive Council meeting on Wednesday, May 13.

The meeting was held online with only the president, vice president, Yemi Osinbajo and the SGF in attendance at the Villa.

The Daily Bells had reported the appointment of Prof Gambari yesterday, Tuesday.

Prof Gambari, a renowned diplomat replaces Late Abba Kyari who died of Covid-19 pandemic.

The new CoS was minister of foreign affairs when Buhari was military head of state between 1983 and 1986.
