The Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria ( NYCN), Kebbi State chapter, Alhaji Sanusi Bala (Dan Inno) has charged youth in the state to be self reliant as the nation’s economy can no longer accommodate them due to already saturated labour market.

Bala gave the charge in Birnin Kebbi as part of his sallah message, saying that Kebbi is blessed with vast fertile land for farming, therefore the youth can avail themselves with the opportunity to become self employed and reduce over dependence on government.

The youth leader called on the Kebbi State Governor, Senator Atiku Bagudu to make fertilizer readily available at affordable price to the teaming farmers of the state, which he said, will help in bringing about bumper harvest.

While appreciating the state government for the recent part payments of gratuities to the retirees, the youth body appealed for the remaining balance of the monies saying a lot of them are passing through difficult times due to the non payments of their monies.

He advised youth to engage in menial jobs like carpentry welding, tailoring and other forms of trades that can sustain them and even create jobs for others.

He admonished them to maintain safety rules during the coronavirus pandemic to protect themselves and others.

Bala also thanked the kebbi state governor for his matured handling of COVID-19 by not totally locking down the state but maintaining safety rules which succeeded in protecting the people against the dreaded virus, the measures, which he said has immensely reduced active cases in the state.
