Fast-Rising Gospel Artiste, JokeOyinmomo, Releases New Inspiring Single, ‘Elohim’

In the bid to stamp her authority as an artiste that has come to rule the gospel genre of music, a fast-growing Nigerian gospel musician, singer and songwriter, Adekunle Adejoke Apotieri, better known as JokeOyinmomo, has launched a new soul inspiring singles titled, ‘Elohim.’

Well known for her indigenous and soul lifting songs, the 23 year-old Jokeoyinmomo, in an interview with the DAILY BELLS, she revealed that the new single, the Elohim, is a powerful and inspiring song that leads one to acknowledge the sovereignty of the Almighty God.

In the new hit singles, the new sign-on artiste under the prestigious label; Saintsquare Records, infused powerful lyrics meant to encourage lovers of gospel music globally.

Aside the new single, the dynamic minstrel, a 400 level student of Microbiology at the Olabisi Onabanjo University, who has become an household name among gospel music lovers, has previously released other well-versed singles such as MOFERIO and OYIGIYIGI. The MOFERIO is a deep revelation of Calvary and how one is willing to know God more and more.

JokeOyinmomo, who hails from Osun State, revealed that she started writing songs at a very young  age of 9 but began her music journey officially in  2019.

“My musical journey started at a very tender age. My mother used to have a local church in Ibadan, so we do go and sing on the alter. We used to lead praise and worship sessions. My mother used to take us to different mountains because we were CAC, where I was privileged to meet different gospel artistes like Sewenle Jesu,  Mama Bola Are and other others.

“So, in 2019, while I was in 100L, I was able to release my first single, Moferio. While I started knowing that I have the passion to write songs and sing, I started moving around from one church to the other. At this point, there was no one to help. My dad was not living with us. He divorced my mum and went to marry another woman, till he died about four years ago. So it has been a major challenge for me. But I believe God is going to lift me high. It has really been a tough journey for me until last year when I got signed on by the Saintsquare Records label.”

According to the minstrel, she got inspired to write the song, Elohim, as she had always wondered about the mystery surrounding the existence of God while she was growing up.

“While I was growing up, I do wonder that God created so many things, He created human beings, he created animals. But nothing was made mention of what or who created God. That has always been in my thoughts. So finally, one day, I was able to sit down and started writing  about the fact that nothing, nobody created God, but He made everything. He’s the only self-existing God.”

Speaking on the state of gospel music in Nigeria, she said, “To me, anything gospel is good news. I will say in whatever way we package that good news, in whatever sound,  it is still good news and it is welcoming. I give kudos to my mummies and daddies, aunties, brothers in music, particularly those that have been doing great jobs. They have been giving us raw, back to back what God has been revealing to them.”

Reiterating her ambition to take gospel music higher, the 23-year-old singer stressed that although gospel was already known worldwide but not at the standard that she wished it should be, as she said “I’m still looking forward to pushing gospel music to that of A+ level internationally.”

JokeOyinmomo noted that she is in the industry to contribute her own quota in terms of the quality of songs coupled with motivational messages that accompany her music.
