NDDC at 25: We Carried Out Sand Filling And Reclamation at Akugbene Town in Bomad
PORT HARCOURT, Nigeria – The Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC has continued to work round the clock to touch the lives of people living in the Niger Delta region.
In the last twenty five years, the commission has done alot. If the NDDC is not building roads, it is supplying medical equipment to hospitals, providing lights to communities including portable drinking water among others.
For instance in Akugbene town in Bomadi Local Government, Delta State, the NDDC carried out a sand filling project aimed at addressing environmental challenges to improve standard of living in the community.
According to the NDDC, the project involved filling and establishing the land to prevent flooding, erosion and other environmental hazards, creating a more habitable and sustainable environment.
