“My New Name Is Hajia Meenah” –Nollywood Actress  Mercy Aigbe Converts To Islam

Popular Nollywood Actress Mercy Aigbe has disclosed that she has converted to Islam while revealing her Islamic name at a Ramadan lecture/special prayers hosted by herself and her husband, Kazeem Adeoti, on Saturday.

The Ramadan lecture was held on Saturday in a hall with clerics admonishing the crowd, including Femi Adebayo, Adebayo Salami, Fathia Balogun, Kemi Afolabi, and other celebrities.

Mercy Aigbe, dressed in long white gown, was seen by her husband’s side and welcomed guests into their event at other times.

In the video which emerged on Sunday, the actress made her new religion known in a  interview at the event, where she introduced herself in her new faith.

In her words, “Insha Allah, My new name is Hajia Meenah Mercy Adeoti. Meenah with the H.”

The viral interview sparked mixed reactions among internet users while some hailed her courage, others wondered why she would abandon her first faith because of a man.
