The Lagos State Police Command has arraigned Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele, and her husband, Abdulrasheed Bello popularly called JJC Skillz, in court for flouting the lockdown order in Lagos State.
The actress, popularly called ‘Jenifa’ and her husband were arraigned before a Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ogba, Lagos.
The husband had arrived at the SCID around 2 am after he was asked to report himself or be declared wanted.
The duo were arraigned for breaching the Lagos Infection Diseases Regulations 2020 (the Regulations) which prescribes a jail term of one month or N100,000 fine or both for persons found guilty of hosting gatherings or flouting the lockdown order.
It reads in part, “Where there is a violation of a close down or stay at home order, security Agencies shall have the power to arrest without warrant and may detain any person who violates the close down or stay at home order for at least 48 hours.
“Where the arrested person is found guilty, the person is liable to a fine of N100,000.00 or one-month imprisonment or three months Community service.”
After reading the charges brought before them by the Magistrate, Akindele and her husband both pleaded guilty.
The magistrate then took a ten minutes break before giving her verdict.
The police had arrested the actress on Sunday evening for hosting a party in honour of her husband.
However, JJC Skillz and Naira Marley were absent during the time of arrest, causing the police to invite them.
Recalled that trouble started for the couple when JJC Skillz posted scenes from the party on his Instagram page.
Celebrities such as Naira Marley attended the party.
Here is the 35 second video of the birthday party that put actress Funke Akindele and husband Abdul Rasheed Bello in trouble.

Before JJC Skillz deleted it, the post had been shared in the social media and triggered a backlash for the couple.
Funke bore the greater blame.
The reason: the party was held when Lagos was on lockdown for coronavirus.
On Sunday, the police arrested her.
They also ordered Naira Marley and Bello to report at Panti on Monday.
There was another development: Nigerian Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, and Dettol Nigeria disowned Funke as brand ambassador.
