Ondo State Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi, has announced his resignation from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
In his letter of resignation addressed to his Apoi, Kiribo Ward chapter of the party in Ese Odo Local Government Area of the state on Sunday, Ajayi thanked the party for the opportunity it afforded him to serve.
He also wished the APC good luck in whatever the party does in the future.
Meanwhile, immediately dumping the APC, Ajayi picked the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) membership card at his ward.
It is speculated that nine members of the Ondo State House of Assembly would joined him to officially defect to the PDP on Monday.
The deputy governor, who has been in loggerheads with the state governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, is expected to later pick up the PDP governorship form and vie for the party’s ticket ahead of the October gubernatorial election in the state.
