JUST IN: DSS Arrests Suspended CBN Gov, Emefiele
The Department of State Services (DSS) has arrested the suspended Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele.
The Daily Bells recalls that the DSS had accused Emefiele of involvement in various acts of terrorism financing, economic crimes of national security dimension and “gargantuan fraud.”
Several other “damning” allegations against the suspended CBN governor, as revealed in preliminary investigations by the DSS, were also contained in the security reports submitted by the secret police to the immediate past President Mohammadu Buhari.
But the apex bank boss severally shunned invitations by the DSS for questioning, hiding under a purported “Presidential Order” from former President Buhari insulating himself and other CBN chiefs from any probe by the secret police and other security agencies.
