Motorists and residents of Iju-Ishaga in Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government area, Lagos are already having a sigh of relief as a grassroot politician, Hon Sulaimon Rasheed Temitope through his pet project, Alubarika Foundation has swung into action filling up all the potholes, which have made most roads in the area unpassable.
Due to the persistent rainfalls in recent time, most of the roads within the environment have become an eyesore with various degrees of potholes, thereby making movement more difficult.
Through his Alubarika Foundation, Hon Sulaimon, a staunch member of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP went to town on Wednesday filling up the potholes.
Some of the streets/roads touched include; Ajibawo, Adesanya and Oke Ayo.
Speaking on the development, Hon. Sulaimon told The Daily Bell’s City Pulse that he decided to take up the responsibility of bringing relief to his community due to his love and passion for the well-being of the Ishaga residents.
He noted, “I decided to do this as part of my own contribution to progress and development of this area.
“People deserve to live in a good environment where there are good roads, good drainage channels as well as clean environment.
“If we continue to wait for government to do everything, things might degenerate beyond repairs.
“What you are seeing today is just a tip of the iceberg. Alubarka Foundation still has a lot of things in stock for our people.”
According to Hon. Sulaimon, the foundation would in the next few days distribute free facemasks, textbooks, school bags for students within the Ishaga community.
