First Bank of Nigeria has won the Most Socially Responsible Bank in Nigeria’s COVID-19 crisis 2020.

The bank won the award at the 8th Annual Brands and Marketing Conference and Awards organised by the Brand Journalists Association of Nigeria, BJAN, held in Lagos recently.

According to the BJAN Chairman, Mr Princewill Ekwujuru, First Bank won the award following the renewed efforts by the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Dr Adesola Adeduntan to continue to look at all areas of intervention where it’s business infrastructure, reach, digital platforms and others natural strengths lie and can be deployed to further support all efforts for Nigerians, young and old alike.

“It is not surprising that First Bank is named most socially responsible Bank in Nigeria’s COVID-19 crisis.

“Among others, the bank has been at the forefront of ensuring safety and survival of Nigerians during and after pandemic that has shaken the entire world to its foundations.”

First Bank, stressed Ekwujuru, in its bid in ensuring health facilities are rapidly expanded, especially testing, isolation, treatment and the provision of intensive care unit (ICU) facilities pivotal to controlling the spread and importantly, treating individuals diagnosed with COVID-19, generously donated the sum of N1 billion towards the joint efforts by the Nigerian Private Sector Coalition Against COVID-19 (CACOVID).”

In addition, the bank has prepared e-learning for one million children in a move to bring more children into the arena of sound education.
