Ex-Bauchi Governor Abubakar Calls For Devolution Of Power To Tackle Security Issues

The immediate past of Governor of Bauchi State, Muhammad Abubakar, has called on the Federal Government to give way for devolution of powers in its bid to end the security challenges facing the country.
The former governor made the call in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi state, at a memorial symposium organized by AB Dikko and Mahmud solicitors Advocates, on the role of the former Attorney General of kebbi State, late Barrister Boyi Dikko Zauro.
The symposium was organized to xray his contributions to conflicts resolutions between farmers and herders in the state.
The ex-governor explained that as long as security remains with the central government, no efforts made in that regard will see the light of the day.
He stated that states and local governments in the country must be allowed to tackle their security issues without undue interference of the central government.
He maintained that basic awareness must be given to both parties to ensure peace and stakeholders must also be economically empower both herders and farmers as a lasting solutions to the lingering conflicts.
