The Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, Kebbi State Chapter has urged the state government to give stimulus package to the state civil servants in order to cushion the effects of the ongoing partial lockdown in the state, which has affected them for at least two weeks.
The state chairman, Comrade Umar Halidu Alhassan, made the plea while lauding the civil servants for the patience they have been exercising since the beginning of the lockdown in the state.
Comrade Umar thanked the government for the measures put in place to ensure the virus does not penetrate the state through the effective manning of its borders.
He said for being obedient to the government’s stay at home order, the civil servants deserve some packages from the government to ensure effective stay at home order.
Umar also thanked the various health practitioners in the state for contributing to the success of the partial lockdown.
“We hereby appreciate them most profoundly for their sacrifices to the people of the state and for being steadfast in the fight to prevent the dreaded virus from entering kebbi state.”
The labour leader urged workers to always take the precautionary measures highlighted by health personnel like social distancing and hand washing with sanitizers.
