BREAKING: Obaseki Re-elected As Edo Governor

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Godwin Obaseki, as the winner of the last Saturday’s governorship election in Edo State.

Obaseki got re-elected for another four years tenure.

The Returning Officer, Prof. Akpofure Rim-Rukeh, who announced the total result of the election, said Obaseki polled 307,955 votes across 18 local government areas to defeat his closest rival Osagie Ize-Iyamu, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who polled 223,619.

Total votes cast is 550,242 while the total number of valid votes in the election is 537,407, and rejected votes – 12,835.

Obaseki won 14 out of the 18 local government areas of the state.
