AMACOS 94/99, After God’s Heart Inc. Donate Multi-Million-Naira Mini Community Library to Abeokuta North LGA
The Association of Mass Communication Students (AMACOS) 94/99 Set of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), in partnership with After God’s Heart Incorporated (AGH), has completed a multi-million-naira Mini Community Library for students and residents of Abeokuta North Local Government Area. The facility will be formally inaugurated in December.
Dr. Adefemi Oluwole, Publicity Secretary, AMACOS 94/99 Set, made this known, in a statement released to the media on Monday.
Strategically located within Abeokuta North LGA, the Mini Community Library is equipped with reading desks, bookshelves, study materials, reference texts and other essential learning tools.
According to the statement, the project was conceived to strengthen reading culture, close learning gaps and provide a safe, conducive environment for academic growth. It also represents a major Legacy Project of the AMACOS 94/99 Set as part of activities marking their #30YearsOfFriendshipAndTogetherness Reunion.
Chairman of the Reunion Planning Committee, Lady Lolade Akokhia, explained that the library commissioning forms part of a robust three-day programme. “Our activities will include courtesy visits to the Mass Communication Department of MAPOLY for the inauguration of an advertising studio and ARCON accreditation project, as well as a joint gift presentation to non-academic staff,” she said. She added that the group will also meet with the Rector of MAPOLY, attend Jumat prayers, visit the Abeokuta Correctional Centre, and conclude the day with a Reconnect & Refresh evening event.
Reunion activities will continue on Saturday with a FunFest at Olumo Rock, before the Reunion Launch and Adire Rendezvous, which will feature a red-carpet reception, awards, and the swearing-in of new executives. The programme will close on Sunday with a thanksgiving service. According to Lady Lolade, the events are designed to reconnect old classmates, strengthen professional relationships, and reaffirm the group’s commitment to community development and educational advancement.
Speaking on the partnership, Chairman of AGH, Dr. D. Olawale, described the Mini Library as a shared investment in youth empowerment. “This facility will give students access to quality learning materials, especially those preparing for major examinations such as WAEC and JAMB. We are proud to collaborate with AMACOS 94/99, a group that continues to show strong commitment to community growth,” he said.
President of AMACOS 94/99, Mr. Adenekan Moruff, expressed appreciation to AGH and the Abeokuta North Local Government for their support. “We are deeply grateful to After God’s Heart Inc. for believing in this vision and funding a significant portion of this impactful project. We also thank the Abeokuta North LGA for providing the space that made this library possible. This collaboration reflects our shared resolve to give back to the community that shaped us,” he stated.
He added that the Mini Community Library stands as “a legacy gift from our set—one that will support thousands of young learners and inspire future generations.”
The Mini Community Library will be officially inaugurated on Thursday, December 11, 2025, with the Executive Chairman of Abeokuta North Local Government, Hon. (Dr.) Lanre Oyegbola-Sodipo, serving as Special Guest of Honour.
