2023: Kwankwaso Picks Popular Cleric, Bishop Idahosa, As Running Mate

Ahead of the 2023 presidential election, the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) Rabiu Kwankwaso has announced a popular Lagos-based cleric, Bishop Isaac Idahosa, as his running mate.

The NNPP, on its official Twitter handle on Thursday, July 14, 2022, announced the choice of Bishop Idahosa who is the presiding pastor of God First Ministry, popularly known as Illumination Assembly, Lekki Light Centre (LLC), Ajah, Lagos.

Kwankwanso, who is a two-time Kano State Governor, had attempted to team up with the presidential candidate of the Labour Party Peter Obi, but his effort to prevail on the former Anambra State Governor to accept being his running mate failed.

Apart from being a pastor, Bishop Idahosa is a gospel singer, writer, and motivational speaker.

Bishop Idahosa, who is called ‘Prophet Talk Na Do’ by his followers, was born in the predominantly Muslim north, precisely in Minna, Niger State, but became a born-again Christian in 1979.
