From Luxury Lifestyle to Alleged Drug Kingpin: NDLEA Arrests KC Luxury, Seizes His N39bn Cocaine Consignment [PHOTOS]

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, has alleged that popular luxury lifestyle businessman Afolabi Kazeem Michael, also known as KC Luxury, is the leader of an international cocaine trafficking cartel.

Until his arrest, KC Luxury was widely known on social media for displaying expensive cars, luxury items and an affluent lifestyle, which he presented as the product of his business interests in the luxury sector.

The NDLEA, however, said its investigation uncovered a different side of his activities, linking him to an international drug trafficking network that allegedly used Nigeria as a transit point for cocaine shipments to the United Kingdom, Europe and Asia.

The agency said KC Luxury and some of his associates were arrested in connection with a cocaine consignment bound for the United Kingdom, valued at about N39 billion.

According to NDLEA Chairman, Brigadier General Buba Marwa, the seizure represents the agency’s largest-ever cocaine interception through the courier channel.

Marwa said KC Luxury was arrested on August 13, 2026, at the boarding gate of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, while allegedly attempting to flee to Paris on a business-class flight.

“This cartel leader did not walk into our custody voluntarily,” Marwa said, explaining that the arrest followed credible intelligence about his planned departure.

The NDLEA said operatives recovered €7,750, £2,800 and N100,000 in cash from the suspect, alongside expensive jewellery.

A subsequent search of his luxury apartment on Banana Island, Ikoyi, Lagos, reportedly led to the recovery of several exotic vehicles.

The agency said the operation effectively dismantled a major international cocaine trafficking network and disrupted its alleged use of Nigeria as a transit hub for illicit drugs.

The NDLEA investigation is expected to establish the full extent of the cartel’s operations, the identities of other members and the channels allegedly used to move cocaine from Nigeria to destinations in Europe and Asia.
